Really Helpful Resources | Winter Edition 2024

Here are some great resources that I hope may be hopeful for you or perhaps someone that you care about. Some of these resources are local to the Ballarat and Grampians region and others are accessible by phone or online.


Eating Disorders Victoria is a great place for carers/parents of a person with an eating disorder to access when needing more information or support for themselves. You can visit their website for more info www.eatingdisorders.org.au


WRISC is a Ballarat based support service for women and/or children affected by family [domestic] violence with more info available at www.wrisc.org.au

OR you can also call 1800RESPECT which is a national service.

Grampians Health have a Paediatric and Adult Multidiciplinary Eating Disorder Clinic that operates out of the Ballarat Base Hospital. If you have been diagnosed with an eating disorder you can ask your GP to refer you to this clinic through the Grampians Health outpatient referral system [your GP should know how to do this]. There is no fee to see this clinic.


Rainbow Door is a specialist helpline that support all LGBTQIA+ people with services that they may need, 7 days per week from 10am-5pm. For more info you can call 1800 729 367 or visit www.rainbowdoor.org.au


13YARN is a culturally safe phone crisis service available 24/7 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Or you can also visit www.13yarn.org.au for more information.


Ballarat Men's Mental Health is a locally based not-for-profit organisation that support men in the Grampians region to link in health services. Self referrals are welcome by visiting their website www.ballaratmmh.com.au or by calling (03) 4310 2119


The Stop Drinking Coach is the creation of Bardia Rezaei, recovered alcoholic and now sobriety and life coach. His podcast is raw, honest and confronting, but a really great listen for anyone wanting to change any unhelpful or harmful habits.
